Club History

The original club was started on March 3, 1989 and was called the FCWDA (Florida Country Western Dance Association).

Pam & Gary Sheffield were the originators and the first presidents. Dances were held at the Hall of 50 States in downtown Ft. Myers.

The dances were held there until January 2002 when FCWDA moved out to Riverside Community Center.

The members all loved it at Riverside Community Center and decided to stay. (Both facilities are owned by the City of Ft Myers.)

The original FCWDA grew to over 250 members.

In May of 1998, the Association was reformed to become Club Country.
